Yesterday was a quiet day. I woke up in good time, had coffee and breakfast with Jan, then went out for a walk. We had a nice dinner together of Jan's yummy chili. It was nice to just have the day to get adjusted to the time change and location difference. I went to bed in good time and had a great sleep. It was really nice chatting with Jan and catching up on each of our news.
This morning I got up early, made coffee and chatted with Jan over breakfast and the morning news. We decided to get motivated in good time, got dressed and went out to check out some art around the Sunshine Coast. First stop was the Sechelt Hospital which has amazing art in the hallways to bring some joy to the staff and patients there. The paintings were outstanding and really did spruce up the feel of the hospital which was quite nice to begin with. I saw one of my dad's paintings hanging there, one that Jan donated. He spent a lot of time at that hospital during his various illnesses, and Jan was very generous to give them one to hang. Many of the nurses love the painting and were thrilled to meet Jan as the donor, as she came across them over time. It was really an interesting place to go and see art. We found a photo of Jan on one of the walls being recognized as a local donor. It was really fun. Check out some of the art we saw there.

After we looked around at the art in the hospital, we went to another gallery which didn't allow any photos. Then we took off to Jan's golf club to grab some lunch. We shared a wrap and salad and looked out over the first hole which is just gorgeous.
From there we looked around Lower Gibsons at some galleries and shops. It was a lovely day poking around and just spending time browsing and chatting. For supper, I made my Green Thai Curry dish and Jan made some Jasmin rice. We had a nice bottle of red wine that added to the lovely dinner and great day. We chilled out for the evening, chatting and watching some shows together. It was a bit too rainy today to go walking but if it's nice tomorrow, we will go for a walk, or if we're really lucky with the weather, have a game of golf.

I hope you are all doing well. I miss Keron and being in Japan, but am very happy to be in this beautiful place visiting with Jan. More tomorrow.
Absolutely love the art in the hospital! It really does help ease people in a stressful situation.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful surroundings!
Happy to hear you’re getting some down time and able to catch up a bit, that’s always good!
I love the idea for the fused glass? I’m wondering if you’re finding far more inspiration than you realize? Can’t wait to see what comes!
Loving the blog, thanks for taking the time! Love you so much! ❤️
