Four More Fun Days (Aug. 6-10, 2016)

Aug. 6
The day, Saturday, the place, my mom's. We woke up, chatted and had coffee. The Olympics were on, so I think we ended up watching them, and trying to motivate ourselves to go out. Finally, we compromised and decided to go out for a short shopping trip, ending it in time to make it home for the 1 pm Women's Rugby. The Bay had what we wanted, new bras, so my mom treated me to some new things. So nice!

We got back to mom's place, watched the game, and played some Scrabble, then made dinner. Dinner was chicken legs with wild rice and kale, along with salad. It was yummy. We kicked back and watched some more Olympics, a movie, then called it a night. It was thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing.

This morning we got up early to get things ready. The family was coming over for Sunday breakfast and a swim. My mom has this process down to an art, so it didn't take long to get everything organized. We sat down and had a cup of coffee, when we heard the mail slot open and a little voice yell, "Hello". They had arrived..........so cute. Breakfast was really fun, and then we got our bathing suits on and went for a swim. Papa just came down to the pool to supervise, with the help of his book, and we all had a great time.

Once swimming was done, the kids, my brother and sister-in-law went home, and I stayed on a bit with my mom to watch the Olympics. I went back a bit later, after nap time. It was perfect.
We had supper when I got home. (Thanks, J and mom, for all the yummy suppers and food in general!) Below you can see me enjoying a delicious taco dinner with my normal family........hehehe. Then a lazy evening, and bed time. Great day!

Today was a very special day for me. I got my hair done, and biked a really long way to a bakery that is closed on Mondays. The hairdresser was booked solid for quite a while, so today was my only opportunity to get something down with my hair.

So many accessories to choose from.

After my hair appointment, Livi and I decided to take her bike out, (that she has not quite yet mastered), for a spin. Run Aunty Sue, run.............I'm trying Liv, but you're not steering very well. Focus on your driving...............I am...................ok, I'm letting go and just supporting your back................ahhhhhh, I'm falling over...............put your feet down................ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah................Livi and Aunty Sue are laughing very hard, for a long time. Finally both of them gets home in one, or perhaps, two, pieces. What a ride.

Good thing we stopped to buy drinks
at Dollarama. The bakery was closed
and we were very thirsty.

This morning I got up early and went golfing. Livi went to Day Camp. I got back around 11 am, then got ready to meet my mom and cousin John. It was his birthday so we all went out for lunch to Deen's Diner which is a great West Indian restaurant. We had nice time chatting about movies, dogs, and a variety of other things. Really nice to catch up with John. His mom's birthday was the same day as my mom's. It was cool that they coincided.

I came home after lunch, then picked up Livi from her camp. Zakki and I walked over to the school where it's held, to get her. She was ready when we got there, and happy to have us picking her up. We got home, played Barbies for a while, then got ready and went over to some friends of Amanda and Jon's, for dinner. They always have a lovely get together and the food is always yummy. Livi and I baked a cake and I made some Skor Bar dessert. Both turned out well and were enjoyed by all of us.

Today Livi went to the farm, on a field trip with her Day Camp. Zakki, Jon and I went to the nearby park and splash pad for some fun. We got a bit wet, played on the swings for a while, then bounced on this crazy teeter totter piece of equipment. It was great having a chance to do this with Zakki and Jon.

Off to the farm today

Yikes, very cold!

Splash pad fun

When Zakki was napping, Jon and I began watching a really good movie. Jon picked up Liv, and I stayed home with Zak. When Liv and Jon came home, we played Barbies for a while (yes Lydia, more Barbies....). Dinner was Pot Stickers with kale salad.......delicious. After dinner, we left the mess, and left for Kids City which is a play area for kids.........of all sizes. It was so much fun, but tiring. How do kids do it????
After that, we took a drive and Amanda showed me another golf course that I could visit. On the way home, we stopped for ice cream, to top off a super fantastic day. It was nice to do something with all of us, as Amanda has to work, so doing it early in the evening was perfect. SO much fun.

So I don't have to tell you what came next. I am in my bed, and it's not very late. The house is silent, even the dog is pooped. What a fantastic day.
Good night all!

Park, Cake and Kale (Aug. 3, 4, 5, 2016)

Aug. 3, 2016
Today was really great day. We played outside in one way or another..........all day. In the morning, we got ourselves ready, and took off to the playground at Kildonan Park. We called Gaga, to see if she wanted to meet up with us, and she did. We were there for about a half an hour before she arrived. We were all so happy she could make it. She chatted with us, came to see what everyone was up to on the play structure, and share her beautiful smile and energy with us. It was awesome.

After we had all been playing for a while, one of my dear friend's, Pad, who also comes from Winnipeg, came to meet up with us at the park too. He hadn't seen my mom for quite some time, and hadn't yet met Zakki either. He'd met Liviah a few times before, both in Winnipeg and when she came to Toronto. He said he fell in love with Zakk. At the end of his visit, because he had to catch his plane home, Zakki gave him a big hug, then walked off to play.......stopped, turned around and waved to Pad, saying 'Bye bye'. Pad was quite moved and was in love from that point on...........so cute.

So we played and visited for a while more, then started getting eaten by mosquitoes. It was time to go home. We convinced Gaga to join us for lunch so she did. We stopped off, due to popular demand, at McDonald's to pick up a burger, then came back home, Gaga along too. We sat and ate, then Zakki went for his nap. Livi wanted to play in her room for a while, so Gaga and me stayed on the couch, and Jon in his comfy chair, and hung out. Gaga and I exchanged foot rubs, and we all chatted and chilled. It was great.

Gaga decided to leave after that, and Livi and I took her bike out for a spin. She suited up, me with backpack, and we set off for the fairly far away bakery, Dollar Store and wine shop. Livi rode the whole way, though she's not quite at the 'by herself' stage yet. It won't be long. We picked out some French Merigue's from the bakery, then went to the Dollar Store for some bubbles and a birthday card. We were successful in finding both. Then we headed home. Livi rode all the way home as well. She's doing really well. It was a long ride and she was awesome.

We came home for dinner and called it a night. I was bushed from our active day, though it's good for me to be moving around. A happy tired, and pleasantly exhausted.

He couldn't finish doing that, so Sophia, his wife, is helping
him to feel better and will finish changing Dilly.

Today we hung out in the morning, playing Barbies (my favourite......NOT). Then all of us got ready, got into the van and drove downtown. I was on my way to Mom's to join our cousin Cathy, and my mom, for lunch. Cathy is visiting also, and we don't see her often. Lunch was really nice. My mom made pickerel and salad, then had cherries for dessert. It was great. Cathy, mom and I chatted a lot, took some photos, then said our goodbyes. Cathy was doing a talk later on in the evening, and still wanted to drop by Jon's for a visit and to see the kids. She left, and I stayed and played Scrabble with my mom. She whomped me, but it was still fun. It's more fun if I'm winning, but that's the way it goes.......lol.

I picked Amanda up after her work ended, to give her a ride home. We had a fantastic chicken quesidilla concoction that my brother made, with salsa, for supper. They were amazing, super tasty and great consistency. Thanks J!

Amanda and Liviah were off to a Community Movie Night at the local community center. They took a little matress for Livs, and a bunch of other comfy items. Both of them were in their pyjamas, with excitement in their eyes. I was off to see Jason Bourne, with my friend of 35 years, Neil. I met him at St. Vital Center, watched the film, which was ok, but nothing to write home about........ahahahaha........I just did. Then I came home and hit the sack.

A great day...................nite nite.

Aug. 5, 2016
Today, I got company at 7:00 this morning. Luckily there were Shopkins in my room, so we had something to play with. It was awesome having Livi cuddle up with me. We played for a while, then went upstairs for breakfast and of course, coffee...............mmmmmm Jon's coffee...............sooooooo good.

After that, Livi, me and Zakki went to the park, while Jon mowed the lawn. It was really fun. Livi and I took turns burying and finding a yellow bottle cap, in Mother Natures sea of rocks. We had a fantastic time. We went home for a great lunch of salad with homemade dressing. Then Zakki went down for a nap, Livi had some quiet time and Jon and I chatted until Zakk was sleeping.

Then Livi and I made chocolate cake. We had a great time doing that, and then we got into cleaning the kitchen. We scrubbed everything until it was crystal clean and sparkling. Well, not everything, but we did a pretty good job. By then it was time for Amanda's sister to pick up the kids, and for me to leave, to go pick up Amanda from work, then have her drop me off at my mom's for the weekend.

Mom and I had a yummy supper of chicken livers, bacon, onions, wild and brown rice with kale, and fried kale with red peppers and mushrooms. Hey look Rachie, I dry friend the mushrooms and they were great. Thanks for telling me how to do that. The rest of the evening, we spent watching a movie and doing rubsies. It was fantastic.

Last Six Days (July 28-Aug. 2, 2016)

Well, as you guessed, I haven't posted for a while. I've been having nothing but fun with my family. I have been to the park a few times, golfed twice, and had picnics in the park. As well, I've had really great food, played Scrabble and watched movies with my mom, as well as go to a local Farmer's Market. Oh, I forgot, I've also played a lot of 'Barbies'. Instead of trying to explain everything I've been doing, it's probably better to post some pics. It will tell the awesome story better than words. I'll try to be a bit more consistent.......lol.
Hope everyone's well. Hope so.
