Today it was raining, foggy and chilly when we got up. Our phone rang around 10:30 and it was Graziano and Gabriella, the parents of my friends who lent us the house here. They are lovely and super kind to offer us such a nice meal and tour around their town. They picked us up and we went to their place in Pineto, a town about 10 kms away from here. They fed us an amazing lunch, beginning with pasta and fresh tomato sauce and chicken, vegetables and salad. We were stuffed, and it was delicious.
Then we took a walk, sat at a cafe and had capucchino. There was a large funeral going on in front of the cafe, so we watched as they brought out the casket and trillions of flowers. Then we took a walk by the sea, as they live minutes from the sea. It started to rain a bit, but not before we were able to see the beach and lovely sea.
We came home fairly early, as we’re still pretty tired and catching up from the jet lag. We cooked chicken in tomato sauce with vegetables, and got pasta fresco to try. We have fresh grano cheese for the top, and of course, wine.
A great day. Hopefully it will be sunny tomorrow so that we can go out exploring.
